This Rolle, as Vermentino is known in southern France, is a very fine example with a perfumed nose of fruits and flowers. On the palate, the balance between lightness and fat gives it a beautiful presence that oscillates between richness and elegance.
Cabernet Franc from 45-60 year old vines fermented in stainless steel. 2019 was a hot vintage, so this typically light wine clocks in at 14% making it ideal for steaks and grilling.
This zesty sparkling Chenin is from 40 year old vines, fermented and aged in 9 & 10 year old barrels with a dosage of just 3g/L. On the nose it’s tropical fruit and lemon cream. On the palate there’s candied lime, chalky minerality, and a creamy finish.
Aged in cement w/ no additives except a dash of SO2 at bottling. Grenache, Cinsault & Syrah from vines at least 40 years old. Medium-weight, bright acidity, fruity, herbal, earthy. Producer’s website calls it a “wine of conviviality”. Sounds about right
Chenin Blanc grown on limestone, fermented in stainless steel, extended lees contact. Technique called debourbage is used where the must is allowed to settle & the wine is bottled sans filtration, adding depth to the lively, limestone minerality.
Organic Gamay. Fresh, bright, minerally with notes of cherry, raspberry, and a touch of spice on the finish. It's an easy sipper that will complement the meal without overpowering it. Shows best with a slight chill.
