Picollo Ernesto is a 3rd generation winemaker with 8 hectares of vines in Rovereto di Gavi; his brother Gian Lorenzo is responsible for the viticulture. These high elevation, sunny, southern exposure vineyards are farmed traditionally, without chemicals. They grow Cortese, a white, thin-skinned grape that can either be vinified dry or spumante (sparkling).
Cortese usually produces dry, minerally, fruity wines that can be drunk young, or aged for a few years.
