This 15 hectare, certified organic estate, situated in Vouvray's Vallée de Cousse, was established in 1786 and has been built up over seven generations to its current 15 hectares. The vines, both old and young, are planted on soils of mostly clay and flint, with a wide variety of sun exposures. All selection-massale, no nursery clones.
François Pinon, a former child psychologist, took over the family estate from his father in 1987. He combined traditional techniques such as short pruning and low yields, with the latest technology, while also emphasizing ecologically friendly vineyard and cellar practices. The property has been certified organic since 2003. François passed away in January of 2021, but his son Julien, who had been working alongside his father for a few years in anticipation of one day taking over the domaine, has continued along in his absence.
