The area of vines devoted to this wine is about 2 hectares. The grapes included in the composition of this vintage are Merlot (45%), Cabernet Franc (5%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (50%).
The terroir exploited by the Château Pédesclaux estate is mainly composed, in more or less large and scattered quantities, of gravels (plateau), clay-limestone, chippings and pebbles. The vineyards of the estate are cultivated according to the principles of sustainable viticulture.
For the vinification of its grapes, Château Pédesclaux estate has opted for the traditional method. In order to carry out this, thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks are used. Depending on the desired cuvées, if the quality of the grapes and the year permits, the estate vinifies the musts directly in oak barrels, up to about 30%. Thereafter, malolactic fermentation occurs for red wines, and finally clarification with egg whites.
